Hawkwood are currently partnering with a Series A, Fintech Start-up who are looking to hire for their first Head of HR.

The business was set up in 2018 and has 57 employees, but with ambitious plans to double their headcount within the next 6 months or so.

The Head of HR role, which sits on the SLT, is a nearly created role that’s responsible for building out their People & Talent function. This includes; embedding and developing existing processes, building out the People & Talent team, integrating the company values into business operations and supporting with the business with growth into new geographies.

Your Impact

  • Build relationships with senior leadership to offer thought leadership on organisational and people-related strategy and execution.
  • Work with the senior leadership team to refine and implement the values and culture programme across all activities.
  • Provide expertise in the following areas: career development, performance management, coaching, compensation and rewards, employee relations, learning and development, and strategic development.

The role

  • Build out a People & Talent team to support the business with their continued growth
  • Manage employee relations processes and issues as they arise in interests of the business and employee.
  • Build people development plans for all roles and functional areas of the business by identifying coaching and training programmes specific to areas of development including leadership and business performance.
  • Harness the businesses learning culture to develop talent internally
  • Implement personal development plans across the business including bespoke learning support and resources development.
  • Ensure that the business values are represented across all areas of the business
  • Help design organisational structures capable of supporting their growth
  • Manage employee relations processes and issues as they arise in interests of the business and employee.

About you

  • Demonstrable experience operating at Head of HR/HR Director or similar role with broad experience across all HR disciplines
  • Proven experience of operating as a trusted advisor to senior management and the executive team
  • You display a creative, innovative approach to problem solving
  • You will be comfortable formulating processes and initiatives completely from scratch
  • You will adopt a commercial approach and display strong business acumen
  • A positive attitude and excellent people skills
  • Strong bias for action, high level of attention to detail
