About the role:

Working with the Head of Talent Acquisition, this role will define, implement and review the Technology talent acquisition strategy to ensure they are able to attract, select, engage and on-board talent across the technology team.

  • To develop a Talent Acquisition Strategy for Technology Team which supports the manpower plan and the ambition of 70:30, ensuring a quality pipeline of candidates so that immediate talent needs are met as well as talent pooling for the future
  • To lead, develop and inspire the Talent Acquisition Specialist (Technology) to enable them to deliver great performance and provide recruitment solutions which meet the talent acquisition aspect of the technology manpower plan
  • To support the Employee Lifecycle from attraction to on-boarding through the creation of appropriate selection methods ensuring that throughout they have an in-depth understanding of an individual’s cultural fit, competence and potential
  • To ensure that all candidates, regardless of outcome, have an exceptional candidate experience
  • To assist in the delivery of the People Strategy, promoting best practice and constantly looking for opportunities to improve the ways in which they acquire talent

Key Responsibilities:

  • To build a detailed understanding of business and talent priorities in conjunction with the Technology Leadership Team and Central Support People Partner to create a proactive and evolving attraction strategy which meets manpower needs
  • Working with the L&D team review, create appropriate selection methods which ensure they have an in-depth understanding of an individual’s cultural fit, competence and potential
  • Lead and inspire the Talent Acquisition Specialist (Technology) so that they are able to define and understand the pools in which the business needs to source for specific ‘hard to recruit’ roles. Different sourcing strategies are then created based on the understanding of these roles and where the candidates will come from to fill them, without compromising the overall Talent Acquisition Strategy
  • To manage the overall allocated budget for Technology talent acquisition to enable consistent delivery of the strategy
  • To monitor and constantly evaluate the effectiveness of the business’ approach to acquiring talent in the technology space making recommendations for improvement/change to reflect the evolving needs of the business to attract great people, ensuring investment and spend is allocated to the most effective channels
  • To understand, monitor and evaluate the candidate experience at every stage of the recruitment journey, taking appropriate actions to continuously improve
  • Where appropriate manage the procurement and measurement process for recruitment agencies so that support as and when required
  • To create lasting happiness for our recruitment agencies; job board providers and other external providers
  • Provide the Insights & Engagement and Reward Teams with insights on hiring and employment information
  • To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of our Application Tracking System (ATS) and make recommendations for continue improvements ensuring a seamless candidate journey from visiting our careers site and applying for a role

About you:

  • Has experience of in-house Technical recruitment within a forward-thinking organisation employing contemporary methods of talent attractions
  • Has prior experience in line management of one or more people
  • Demonstrates an ability to work in true partnership through appropriate support, guidance, challenge, collaboration and co-creation
  • Strong leadership style – leads with Compass as their guide so they can inspire, grow and develop their team as well as inspire their peers and key stakeholders to work in partnership with them
  • Is able to take a long term, strategic view to talent acquisition so that growth needs are met and cultural strength is enhanced
  • Is able to deliver the Technology talent acquisition strategy but in a practical way so sub-functional variations/needs are considered and met
