Our client is a multinational leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defence industry. They have operations in over 300 locations worldwide, and are dedicated to redefining aerospace through their commitment to innovation, performance, and excellence.

Their French operations are integral to our success has has a total employee base of c900 across 3 sites, encompassing corporate functions, professional services, and sophisticated engineering roles.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced HR Director to lead the Human Resources function across 3 sites in France (1 in Toulouse, and 2 in close proximity to Paris).

This pivotal role reports directly to the EMEA HR Director and oversees a dedicated team of 10 HR professionals. As the HR Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that support their growth objectives, fostering a high-performance culture, and ensuring their team members are engaged, valued, and positioned for success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies aligned with global objectives to drive business performance across their French operations, with a particular emphasis on more closely aligning the French operations with the US HQ’s operating model and ways of working
  • Change Management: Lead organizational change initiatives as the business evolves and embarks on a period of sustained growth and cultural evolution.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 10 HR professionals, promoting continuous learning and development.
  • Talent Management: Oversee talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies to build a workforce capable of meeting current and future organizational challenges.
  • Performance Management: Implement effective performance management systems that align employee performance with corporate goals.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as a key advisor on all employee relations matters, ensuring a positive work environment that respects diversity and promotes inclusion. The team includes one highly-skilled Employee Relations specialist, so the HR Director will have the benefit of their expertise, but must provide oversight.
  • Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure HR policies and practices comply with local and national regulations, embodying best practices in HR management.

About you:

  • Significant HR leadership experience within a high-performing, professional business; with a proven track record of success in managing HR functions across multiple sites.
  • Experience working in a multinational business is essential with significant US presence/influence being part of the preferred criteria
  • Experience working in a highly-matrixed business; with the skills to manage multiple stakeholders across different divisions and locations
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in complex, large-scale change management and strategic planning
  • Fluency in French and English is essential.
  • A dynamic and resilient leader with a passion for excellence, innovation and working at pace
